Office Makeover Case Study
Kathleen Lilleeng of Home and Office Makeovers donated her design services to Channel 10 News' "Extereme Makeover: My Hometown!" This design project included an office redesign, a men's bathroom makeover, and a complete overhaul of the sensory room. The following is a note from Kathleen and a letter from the recipients of her services and a slideshow with the before and after photos.
As the interior designer on The Arc of San Diego makeover project I pushed the boundries on the color palette throughout, especially the art and sensory rooms. What typically would be considered too glaring for the human eye, these rooms were an opportunity to open up a color spectrum to stimulate and stir the creativity of the consumers in the programs provided by The Arc. Sponsored by Channel 10, a portion of The Arc was in need of improvements including the computer room, men's and women's bathrooms and the art and sensory rooms.
The Extreme Makeover Team comprised of an all volunteer group of business owners from a general contractor, painters, flooring companies, electricians and plumbers to furniture stores and computer companies. The level of sensory awareness was accomplished by this group effort exceeding the expectations of the staff and consumers of The Arc of San Diego.

Dear Ms. Lilleeng
From everyone at The Arc of San Diego and the Starlight Center, thank you very much for you support and participation in the Channel 10 News' "Extreme Makeover: My Hometown!"
Thanks to Home and Office Makeovers in kind donation of her design services, the Starlight Center received a much-needed remodel. Home and Office Makeovers efforts helped provide and refurbish beautiful new bathrooms, a professional and functional computer and media lab, and awe-inspiring art and sensory rooms. Not to be overlooked is the fact that your support in this project also lifted the spirits of both our program participants as well as our staff.
The needs of those we serve continue to increase each year and yet governmental support continues to lessen. The Starlight Center's needed improvements would not have been possible without your support. Your support will allow The Arc to continue serving people with disabilities who receive assistance from our Community Living Services, the individuals with disabilities working in our Community Employment Services, and the adults with disabilities in our daily programs.
Because we were able to rely on you, you can continue to rely on the Arc of San Diego to make a difference in the lives of people with disabilities.
Thank you again for partnering with us on this important project.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey C. Wiemann Terri Thorn
CEO Director, Starlight Center
